There’s something sacred about seeking God in the stillness of the morning. Join us on the shore for our annual Sunrise Service with a powerful morning of worship, prayer, and celebration as we lift up the name of Jesus and witness lives forever changed through water baptism.

This year, we’re honored to join in praise with Jabari Johnson, Jay Todd, Antwaun Cooks, and Enrique Holmes! Come ready for a move of God as the sun rises over Lake Michigan!

Whether you’re coming to be baptized or to celebrate with others, come with expectation as we Praise at the Water!

  • Saturday, August 8
    Service Begins: 5:00 AM

  • 63rd Street Beach

  • White Shirt & Blue Jeans

    We also recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater, as temperatures along the lakefront can be cool during the early morning hours.

  • This is a BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair) event. If you plan to take a shuttle, please bring a personal-sized, compact chair that’s easy to carry.

  • Parking at 63rd Street Beach is limited. We strongly encourage guests to use rideshare services or our complimentary shuttle service.

    New Life Covenant Southeast is not responsible for parking violations, towing fees, vehicle damage, theft, or loss of personal property. Please observe all posted parking regulations and tow-zone signage.

  • Guests using Uber, Lyft, or taxi services should use the following designated drop-off and pick-up location west of Lake Shore Drive

    Please follow all directions from onsite volunteers and public safety personnel when arriving and departing.

  • Complimentary shuttle service will be available from:
    New Life Covenant Southeast (The Temple)
    7621 S. Greenwood Avenue, Chicago, IL

    • Shuttle service begins at 3:00 AM in the North Parking Lot near The Movement!

    • Shuttles depart approximately every 15 minutes

    • The last return shuttle from 63rd Street Beach will depart at 8:30 AM

    SHUTTLE BUS GUIDELINES
    For the safety and comfort of all guests, the following items are not permitted on shuttle buses:

    • Wagons

    • Non-folding chairs

    • Beach toys

    • Tents or canopies

    • Umbrellas

    • Coolers

    • Grills or cooking equipment

    • Large carts

    • Bicycles or scooters

    • Pets or animals (service animals are welcome in accordance with applicable law)

    • Alcohol, illegal substances, or weapons

    • Oversized items that may block aisles or emergency exits

  • Please note: There will be a short 1–4 minute walk from the bus drop-off or parking areas to the beach.

    We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a light jacket for the early morning breeze.

Let us know how you would like to receive your Baptism Certificate. If you would like to pick up your certificate at the Sunrise Service, please submit this form by 9:00 PM CDT on Friday, August 7.

Participants may also choose pickup at New Life Covenant Southeast or email delivery.
